MVDC MMC Convertor - GridMax MV

Introduction

GridMax MV is an advanced, solid-state AC to DC converter that connects directly to a medium-voltage grid (11 kV AC) and delivers a regulated 15 kV DC output. Using Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) architecture a breakthrough power electronics topology adopted globally for HVDC and FACTS systems the converter enables highly efficient, modular, and scalable transformation of utility-scale AC to high-voltage DC.

Designed for megawatt-scale EV charging, green ports, hydrogen electrolyzer feeds, and high-power industrial infrastructure, GridMax MV eliminates the need for bulky step-down transformers and secondary rectification stages.

Key Technology: Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC)

MMC technology :

  • High Efficiency: >98% conversion across a wide load range
  • Low Harmonics: Built-in harmonic mitigation—no need for bulky filters
  • Scalability: Module-based expansion from 1 MW to 10 MW
  • Fault Tolerance: Redundant submodules enhance uptime
  • Bidirectional Operation: Supports vehicle-to-grid (V2G), BESS cycling, and load leveling
  • Fast Dynamics: Sub-10 ms response to grid fluctuations and DC load surges
